
In the summer of 2015 we organised a marketing campain to collect shells with the intention to bring them back to the sea. We distributed posters in public spaces and created three collecting points. One at the graduation show of AKV St. Joost Den Bosch, one at Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis and one in an exhibition in Willem II Fabriek.






During this period we collected 2558 shells, which we stored in a corner of our house.

We documented all the shells in an inventory that reached 170 centimeters long. It includes the inventory of all the 2558 shells, including their species, characteristics, origin, packaging and contributor. And yes, that took a while…

In our search on how to get these shells back to the sea we explored different options. Could we join a cruise ship? Apparently not, because it’s illegal to throw anything from the ship. After a while Frans connected us with Erik, who never misses an opportunity to take out his sailboat. Take a seat and watch the video below.
