Nico Parlevliet invited 24 artists to record one hour of sound during their daily work and life during spring 2020. He based this idea on his research about soundhouses and the relationship between sound and time. This resulted in 24 audio fragments which represent a day of the artists’ life.
Malou van Doormaal was invited to record the hour between 04:00 and 05:00, a time when people normally sleep. They knew it would be too much of a restless moment. So they went downstairs, watched commercials on TV (less excting than they’d hoped), asked via social media who else was online (one person) and then went to visit their neighbor, who is often awake at this time.
