Fantasies on how to strike

Impression of the film installation at Zeeuws Museum.

Lisette Olsthoorn is a filmmaker who focusses on the field of precarious work. We joined as a participant with experience as attendant in the conceptual film Fantasies on how to Strike pt.1. This is a short film on precarious labour that closely observes museum attendants in a Dutch museum. The film is based on a two-year research on precarious labour in the Netherlands and straddles the boundary between documentary and fiction.

Next to our art practice we’ve worked as an attendant in museums to earn some money. This experienced was used in the making of the film, where also attendants from other museums participated.
