Collab Collide Collapse was a collaboration project by Ongekend where 20 beginning and experienced artists where connected with each other. During a three month collab the couples worked towards a presentation moment.
We were connected with fourth year art student Wanda Tiersma. Our conversation went about being busy busy busy, to-do lists, calendars, careers and when to die happily. How do our everyday choices affect our state of mind? Think about using the escalators instead of the stairs or the impatience we feel when waiting at a traffic lights. What do we want to do with this? Do we need a goal in life? Do we want to be successful?
This exchange resulted in a participatory intervention during the opening of the exhibition where we guided the visitors on facebook and during the opening. How can you make the most of the evening’s networking opportunities?
At the entrance of the exhibition we set up a display, where people could share their contact details or business cards. Everyone got a sticker with NETWORK NEWBIE, which they could exchange with a next level sticker when collecting more business cards from other visitors. On a big display people could leave their business cards, so future visitors could see if they’ve missed someone they wanted to speak and get in touch with them.
